A group of ten students embarked on an educational tour to ISRO’s Space Application Centre in Ahmedabad on Monday. The initiative, flagged off by Rajesh Dharmani, the state’s Technical Education Minister, witnessed the departure of students in the presence of their parents and district administration members. This tour follows the inauguration earlier this year of a Space Lab at Ghumarwin Boys School, featuring models showcasing ISRO’s various programs.

The primary goal of these initiatives, according to officials, is to cultivate a deeper interest in science among rural students in Bilaspur district and to foster enthusiasm for space science. Minister Dharmani further disclosed plans by the district administration to establish space labs across four subdivisions of Bilaspur, aiming to further engage students in science education.

In addition to visiting the Space Application Centre, the students will also explore Gujarat Science City’s largest space museum, an IMAX 3D theatre, an energy park, life science park, musical fountains, and the Hall of Space. These activities are designed to broaden their exposure to cutting-edge scientific advancements and inspire their interest in space exploration.
