Reason for Postponement
The postponement is a response to widespread dissatisfaction among candidates concerning unemployment issues and scheduling conflicts with other competitive exams. According to an official notice from TSPSC:
It is hereby informed that the Commission, having deliberated on the proximity of examination dates between various recruitments, has decided to reschedule the Group-II Services Recruitment Examinations scheduled on 07th & 08th August, 2024 to December, 2024.
Background and Decision
The original exam dates for the Group II exams were set for August 7 and 8, 2024. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 783 vacancies. The online registration for the exam commenced on January 18, 2023, and concluded on February 16, 2023.
Following a request from Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, who met with Group II candidates on July 19, 2024, the TSPSC reviewed the timing of the exams. The Deputy Chief Minister advocated for rescheduling the exam to address candidates’ concerns about overlapping with other important competitive exams.
Previous Postponements
The TSPSC Group II Exams 2024 have experienced multiple postponements:
- Initially scheduled for August 29 and 30, 2023.
- Rescheduled to November 2 and 3, 2023.
- Later moved to January 6 and 7, 2024.
- Subsequently rescheduled to August 7 and 8, 2024.
- Now postponed to December 2024.
