Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has initiated a significant push to enhance job opportunities for the youth in Uttar Pradesh. Following the recent 60,000 constable recruitment exam conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police, CM Yogi has directed the swift filling of all open positions in the state, including roles such as Naib Tehsildar and Tehsildar.
In a recent announcement at Lok Bhavan, CM Yogi Adityanath revealed plans to recruit over 40,000 new personnel into the Uttar Pradesh Police within the next six months. This marks a historic move, as the UP Police Recruitment Examination is touted as one of the largest of its kind to be conducted simultaneously and without incident globally.
UP Police Recruitment Process:
- 2 Lakh New Hires: The Uttar Pradesh government plans to make 2 lakh new hires, with 1 lakh positions to be filled this year and the remaining 1 lakh next year.
- Police Force: Of these, 1 lakh positions are designated for the police force. Notably, 20% of these positions are reserved for female candidates.
- Current Recruitment: The ongoing recruitment process includes 60,244 police constable positions, with an additional 40,000 positions expected to become available soon.
- Prevention of Unfair Means in Public Examination Act-2024: This act has been praised for making the recruitment process transparent. Candidates who missed out on applying or were not selected in the current round will have an opportunity with the upcoming 40,000 positions.
Exam Pattern and Eligibility:
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have completed their 12th grade.
- Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 and 25 years old, with age exemptions for designated categories.
- Eligibility: Young people from any state can apply for the UP Police Constable positions, regardless of residency in Uttar Pradesh.
Current Status:
- Written Exam: The written exam has been completed, and successful candidates will proceed to the physical examination stage.
- Applicant Details: Over 50 lakh applications were received, though more than 6 lakh applicants withdrew from the test. Notably, applications were received from candidates outside Uttar Pradesh as well.
This recruitment initiative aims to address unemployment among the youth and strengthen the state’s police force, reflecting a commitment to improving both job prospects and law enforcement capabilities in Uttar Pradesh.
