Te Pūkenga, the New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology (NZIST), has launched a groundbreaking initiative providing over NZ$200,000 in scholarships for Indian students pursuing higher education in science and technology fields in New Zealand.

Announced at the New Zealand High Commission in New Delhi, these scholarships are available for Indian students enrolling in their first year of a full-time programme in New Zealand for 2025. This initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which aims to equip students with skills for global careers.

Ziena Jalil, Chief of Staff at Te Pūkenga, NZIST, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “In a rapidly changing world where science and technology are central, we need skilled professionals in these critical fields. These scholarships support Indian students in accessing globally recognized qualifications and industry best practices in areas with high talent demand.”
