The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the tentative schedule for the NEET-UG 2024 counselling. Registration for the counselling process will begin on August 14 and end on August 20. This counselling is for MBBS, BDS, and BSc (Nursing) programs.
Counselling Schedule:
- Round 1 Registration: August 14 – August 21
- Choice Filling and Locking: August 16 – August 20
- Seat Allotment: August 21 – August 22
- Result Declaration: August 23
- Reporting/Joining: August 24 – August 29
- Verification: August 30 – August 31
The second round of registration will be held from September 4 to September 5, with seat allotment and verification occurring between September 11 and September 12. Candidates with allotted seats must report between September 14 and September 20.

The counselling will cover approximately 1.10 lakh MBBS seats in about 710 medical colleges across India, along with 21,000 BDS seats, AYUSH, and nursing programs. It will include 15% of All India quota seats and 100% seats for Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, Jamia Millia Islamia, and ESIC Dental College and Hospital.

- General Category: ₹1,000
- SC, ST, OBC, PWD: ₹500
- Security Fee (Reserved Category): ₹5,000
- Security Fee (Unreserved Category): ₹10,000
- For Deemed Universities (Medical, Dental, BSc Nursing):
- Application Fee: ₹5,000
- Security Deposit: ₹2,00,000
In 2014, there were 387 medical colleges in India, which has now increased by 88% to 731. This expansion has led to a 118% increase in MBBS seats, reflecting significant growth in medical education in the country.
