India Post GDS 2024: Third Merit List Released
India Post has announced the third merit list for the Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) 2024 exam on October 21, 2024. Candidates who participated in the recruitment drive can view the results on the official website, indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The results are available for candidates in Assam, Bihar, Gujarat, Kerala, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. The lists for Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and 48 divisions remain unpublished due to the Model Code of Conduct established by the Election Commission of India.
The GDS merit list is based on candidates’ marks from Class 10th/Matriculation from approved boards. This recruitment campaign aims to fill 44,228 Gramin Dak Sevak positions across 23 circles in India.
How to Check the GDS 2024 Merit List
To access the results, follow these steps:
- Visit the official India Post website at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
- Click on the tab labeled ‘GDS Online Engagement Schedule, July-2024: List-III of Shortlisted Candidates Published’.
- Enter your registration number and password.
- Click the submit button.
- Your result will be displayed on the screen.
- Download and save the document for future reference.
Document Verification Requirements
Selected candidates must verify the following documents with the Divisional Head listed next to their names:
- Original Class 10/SSC/SSLC mark sheets
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Physically handicapped certificate (if applicable)
- 60 days Computer Knowledge Trained Certificate from a recognized institute
- Submitted application form
Upon successful document verification, candidates will receive their appointment letters. The GDS recruitment includes two posts: Assistant Branch Postmaster and Branch Post Master. Salaries for Assistant Branch Postmasters range from Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,470, while Branch Post Masters earn between Rs 12,000 and Rs 29,380. Additionally, selected Chowkidars will receive a monthly salary of Rs 20,000.
