
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued detailed guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Practical Examinations 2025. Schools are required to comply with these directions and adhere to the schedule provided.
Schedule for Practical Examinations
- Main Schools: January 1, 2025, to February 14, 2025.
- Winter-Bound Schools: November 5 to December 5, 2024.
Guidelines and SOP Highlights
1. Mark Uploading Timeline
- Marks for all Practical Examinations/Projects/Internal Assessments must be uploaded starting from the dates of the respective exams.
- The uploading process must be completed by the final date for the respective class. No extensions will be permitted.
2. Ensuring Error-Free Uploading
- Schools, internal examiners, and external examiners must ensure that marks are uploaded correctly.
- Corrections will not be allowed once the marks are uploaded.
- Examiners must verify maximum marks for practicals as per the circular issued by CBSE.
- Both internal and external examiners must provide an undertaking confirming the accuracy of the uploaded data.
3. Conduct for Regular Students
- Practical exams will be conducted for regular students listed under the List of Candidates (LOC) for Classes X and XII.
- Schools must contact their regional office if any student names are missing.
- Private students’ marks will be awarded based on the Board’s policy and Examination Bye-laws.
4. Unfair Means
- Students or stakeholders attempting to influence examiners or compromise the sanctity of the assessments will face strict action under unfair means regulations.
- Examiners must report any such cases to the regional office immediately.
5. Board’s Authority to Cancel Practical Examinations
- CBSE reserves the right to cancel practical examinations if schools fail to comply with its directions.
- Re-conducted examinations will be supervised directly by the Board if required.
6. Non-Disclosure of Marks
- Marks for Practical Examinations/Projects/Internal Assessments hold the same importance as theory exams and must not be disclosed to students or any other individual.
Key Dates for CBSE Examinations
- CBSE Class 10 Board Exams: February 15 to March 18, 2025.
- CBSE Class 12 Board Exams: February 15 to April 4, 2025.
- Timings: Single shift from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
This year, CBSE will conduct board examinations for 44 lakh students across India and abroad, with datesheets released well in advance on November 20, 2024.
