The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official CBSE Superintendent Syllabus 2025 along with the recruitment notification. Candidates preparing for this exam can check the detailed syllabus, exam pattern, and important subjects below.

CBSE Superintendent Selection Process

The selection procedure consists of three stages:

  1. Tier-1 Exam – Objective-type test evaluating general knowledge, logical reasoning, and numerical ability.
  2. Tier-2 Exam – Descriptive and objective questions testing subject knowledge and analytical skills.
  3. Skill Test – Typing proficiency test (qualifying in nature).

Only candidates who pass Tier-1 will be shortlisted for Tier-2 in a 1:10 ratio, and those passing Tier-2 will be invited for the Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio.

CBSE Superintendent Tier-1 Exam Pattern

The Tier-1 exam consists of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for a total of 450 marks. The test is conducted in both Hindi and English, except for the English comprehension section.

CBSE Superintendent Skill Test

The Skill Test assesses typing speed and proficiency. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Typing speed:
    • 35 words per minute (wpm) in English
    • 30 words per minute (wpm) in Hindi
  • Key Depressions per Hour (KDPH):
    • 10,500 KDPH for English
    • 9,000 KDPH for Hindi

This test is qualifying in nature and does not impact the final selection but is mandatory to clear.

The Tier-1 syllabus covers five sections:
