New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has held a meeting with officials from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) and representatives of major social media platforms to address the spread of false claims regarding paper leaks and exam-related misinformation.

Response to Viral Claims

The meeting, held on Thursday evening, was prompted by viral videos featuring teachers from coaching centers who claimed to have prior knowledge of exam topics and questions. Some even alleged paper leaks, raising concerns about the credibility of board examinations.

A CBSE official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated, “We have convened a coordination meeting with CERT-In and social media heads to tackle the spread of misinformation about board exams.”

Standard Procedures to Handle Misinformation

CBSE has had a standard operating procedure (SOP) in place since 2019 to counter false paper leak claims. The board actively monitors social media for misleading content and takes the following actions:

  • Flagging misleading content to social media platforms
  • Requesting takedowns of false claims in accordance with legal provisions
  • Filing complaints with law enforcement when necessary

Strengthening Exam Integrity

The meeting reinforced CBSE’s commitment to upholding exam integrity and combating misinformation. Officials urged social media platforms to take swift action against false claims that could mislead students and parents.

CBSE continues to work closely with authorities to prevent misinformation and ensure fair, transparent, and credible board examinations.
