Bhopal, 28 February 2025: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav launched the ‘STEM Education’ programme on National Science Day. The initiative aims to enhance practical learning, foster scientific curiosity, and integrate advanced technologies into education.
Speaking at Vigyan Bhawan, CM Yadav emphasized the government’s commitment to science and technology in governance, education, and public administration. Addressing students, he recalled how C.V. Raman’s discovery of the Raman Effect on February 28, 1928, led to the celebration of National Science Day.
“India has a long history of scientific inquiry,” he said. “Even before the West invented telescopes, Indian scholars contributed significantly to astronomy through Navagraha studies.”
Highlighting India’s scientific progress, he pointed to advancements in vaccination and digital payments during the COVID-19 pandemic. He described this period as a golden era for Indian science under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
To strengthen research and innovation, the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science & Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with VIT Bhopal. This partnership aims to improve STEM-based education and academic collaboration.
The STEM Education programme will benefit students by encouraging structured, science-driven learning. It will equip them with essential skills and prepare them for future challenges.
