Hyderabad: The Telangana government has announced a historic allocation of Rs 11,600 crore to establish 55 Young India Integrated Residential Schools across the state. This initiative aims to provide world-class education to students from economically weaker sections, ensuring access to quality learning facilities.

Government’s Vision for Integrated Residential Schools

Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu made the announcement at a press conference on Sunday, joined by Ministers Komatireddy Venkata Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. He credited Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for approving the funding through the education department.

Emphasizing the significance of these schools, the Deputy CM stated, “We are using every penny to improve the living conditions of people. These schools will provide education of international standards to children from poor, backward, and middle-class families.”

State-of-the-Art Facilities and Digital Education

The government plans to build these residential schools on 20 to 25 acres of land each, featuring:

  • A modern sports complex for student development
  • Teacher housing facilities for on-campus accommodation
  • Digital education infrastructure aligned with global standards
  • Fully equipped labs, libraries, and a mini-theatre

A Milestone in Education Reform

The initiative follows previous government efforts to establish three Young India Integrated Schools. With this new funding, the state aims to transform public education and offer a competitive curriculum that prepares students for global opportunities.

The project reinforces Telangana’s commitment to accessible, high-quality education, ensuring that students from all backgrounds can compete at an international level.
