The Adani Group has launched a nationwide ‘Skill and Employ’ program to strengthen India’s workforce and support the ‘Make in India’ initiative. In partnership with the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), the program will enhance vocational and technical education to meet industry needs in green energy, manufacturing, high-tech, and industrial design sectors.
Nationwide Initiative for Workforce Development
The program is the largest of its kind in India. The Adani Group has committed over Rs 2,000 crore to establish an institution and finishing school in Mundra. This initiative will provide industry-focused training to students from technical and vocational backgrounds. After completing the program, students will be ready for employment in the Adani Group or other industries.
Partnership with IGCC for International-Standard Training
The Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC), founded in 1956, is the largest German bi-national chamber of commerce abroad. It has over 4,000 member companies. IGCC will shape the curriculum to align with international standards, ensuring students receive globally relevant training.
“The program reflects the Group’s mission to cultivate high-level technical talent and strengthen India’s industrial workforce,” said Robin Bhowmik, CEO of Adani Skills & Education.
Vocational Training to Bridge Industry-Education Gap
The program will combine classroom learning with hands-on experience. This approach will help students develop practical skills and adapt to real-world challenges. The training will cover:
- Green energy and renewable resources
- High-tech manufacturing
- Industrial design and automation
- Supply chain and logistics
Supporting India’s Economic Growth
With India’s workforce playing a key role in the country’s economic growth, this initiative aims to strengthen the industrial base. It reflects the Adani Group’s long-term commitment to creating a skilled and competitive workforce aligned with global industry demands.
Conclusion
The Adani Group’s partnership with IGCC is a strategic step toward addressing the skills gap in India. By aligning training programs with industry standards, the initiative aims to create a future-ready talent pool capable of driving India’s industrial and economic growth.
