On January 26, the National Service Scheme (NSS) of Saraswati College of Engineering, Kharghar, organized a blood donation camp at Ganesh Mandir, Sector-02, Kalamboli. The camp, held in collaboration with Bandhilki Pratishtan, ran from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, marking the occasion of Republic Day. A total of 60 units of blood were successfully collected during the event.
The medical officer conducted thorough examinations of the donors, ensuring they met the eligibility criteria before giving consent for blood donation. Volunteers from NSS played a crucial role in creating awareness among the local community, spreading the word at bus depots and nearby areas to encourage participation. Many volunteers also took the initiative to donate blood themselves.
The camp concluded with volunteers expressing gratitude to all the doctors and colleagues who contributed to the success of the event. Special thanks were extended to IRS Officer Mr. Nasir Iqbal Maner for his valuable guidance and support throughout the camp, as well as for his appreciation of the NSS volunteers’ efforts.
College Principal Dr. Manjusha Deshmukh and NSS Area Coordinator Dr. Sunita Pal provided essential guidance throughout the camp, ensuring its smooth and successful execution.
