Speaking at a post-Budget webinar on employment, attended by ministers, bureaucrats, and policymakers, the PM called the 2025 Budget a blueprint for India’s future, highlighting its focus on education, skill development, AI, and healthcare.

Education and Skill Development: Preparing for the Future

The Budget aligns India’s education system with 21st-century global standards through key initiatives:

  • National Education Policy (NEP) implementation and digital learning expansion in 22 Indian languages
  • 1,000 ITIs to be upgraded and five Centres of Excellence established
  • Over 30 million youth have received skill training since 2014
  • Stronger industry-academia collaboration to enhance real-world learning opportunities

PM Modi emphasized the need for universities and industries to work together to prepare young professionals for the evolving job market.

Healthcare Reforms: Expanding Access and Infrastructure

The healthcare sector will undergo significant expansion with:

  • 10,000 new medical seats added, with a goal of 75,000 seats in five years
  • Telemedicine facilities extended to all primary health centres
  • Daycare cancer centres established in all districts
  • Investment in health tourism, yoga, and wellness tourism for economic growth

These measures aim to improve healthcare access while generating new employment opportunities.

AI and Technology: Driving Economic Growth

PM Modi highlighted artificial intelligence (AI) as a transformative force in India’s economy:

  • Rs 500 crore allocated for AI-driven education and research
  • Rs 1 lakh crore corpus fund approved for deep tech and emerging sectors
  • AI is expected to contribute trillions of rupees to India’s economy

Urban Development and Economic Sustainability

With 900 million people expected to live in cities by 2047, the government has launched an Urban Challenge Fund of Rs 1 lakh crore to focus on governance, infrastructure, and financial sustainability.

Reaffirming his government’s participatory approach to budgeting, PM Modi stressed the importance of stakeholder engagement before, during, and after Budget formation to ensure effective implementation.
