CBSE Conducts Capacity Building Programme on NEP-2020 in Jharkhand

On Saturday, around 200 principals and senior educators from across Jharkhand participated in a capacity-building programme on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, held at Delhi Public School (DPS), Bokaro. The workshop was jointly organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and Dr Radhakrishnan Sahodaya School, a city-based institution.


Focus of the Workshop

DPS-Bokaro principal A S Gangwar described NEP 2020 as a progressive and transformative policy designed to modernize Indian education. The sessions emphasized:

  • Inquiry-Based Learning: Encouraging curiosity and critical thinking among students.
  • Continuous Learning Practices: Promoting lifelong learning and adaptability.
  • Skill-Focused Approaches: Integrating vocational skills and practical applications into the curriculum.
  • Assessment Frameworks: Examining new methods for evaluating student performance, aligned with NEP 2020 principles.

Importance of the Programme

The workshop aimed to equip educators with the tools and strategies necessary to meet contemporary educational demands. It provided a platform for educators to share insights and implement NEP-driven changes in their institutions, fostering a student-centric and skill-oriented education system.

Participants highlighted the significance of adopting modern teaching methodologies and improving the quality of education in schools across Jharkhand.


The programme marked a significant step towards transforming education in line with the goals of NEP 2020, ensuring that teachers and school leaders are prepared for its successful implementation.
