CBSE National Skill Expo Promotes Career Readiness

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organized the National Skill Expo and Guidance Festival on February 6, 2025, at Delhi Public School, Pali Road, Jodhpur. The event aimed to promote skill education and career readiness among students across India.

Expert Insights and Inauguration

The expo was inaugurated by Rahul Singh, IAS, CBSE Chairman, alongside Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy, IAS, Principal Secretary, Government of Kerala, Dr. Biswajit Saha, Director (Skill Education), CBSE, and Asha Vyas, Pro-Vice Chairperson of DPS Pali Road.

Rahul Singh emphasized the role of skill-based education in shaping India’s future workforce, stating, “The world is evolving, and we must evolve too, preparing our future generations for career readiness. CBSE is championing India’s educational shift towards skilling through initiatives like the National Guidance Festival (NGF).”

Dr. Raju Narayana Swamy commended CBSE’s efforts in fostering skill-based learning, highlighting the importance of identifying and nurturing students’ innate talents.

Student Participation and Skill Showcases

The expo witnessed participation from over 1,650 students across 46 teams representing 13 states and 2 union territories. Students presented innovative projects in fields such as:

  • Emerging technologies
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Beauty and wellness
  • Banking and finance

A panel discussion on ‘The Role of Design and Technology in Skilling’ featured industry experts, including:

  • Archana Surana, Director, ARCH College of Design and Business
  • Sandeep Sethi, Director of Education, Jaipur City Palace Museum
  • Anamika Das, Head of ESRI
  • Sanjeev Shivesh, CEO, ThinkStartup

Recognition and Conclusion

The event concluded with a lecture by Prof. V.S. Srivastava, Head, PSS Central Institute of Vocational Education (PSSCIVE) Bhopal, on ‘Promoting Skill Education in Schools NCF-SE’.

In the competition, SSVM School of Excellence, Coimbatore, and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, Jaipur, jointly secured first place for their outstanding projects.

Swati Acharjee, Principal of DPS Jodhpur, acknowledged the contributions of students, speakers, and organizers, commending their efforts in promoting skill-based education.
