CBSE Asks Schools to Correct LOC Data by April 17

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice instructing all affiliated schools to correct errors in the List of Candidates (LOC) data before April 17, 2025. This correction facility, which opened on April 9, allows schools to update important student details to ensure accurate results and marks statements.

What Corrections Are Allowed

Schools can request updates in several key fields:

  • Interchange of mother and father’s names
  • Photo corrections
  • Date of birth updates (as per official school records and valid documents)
  • Changes in the Single Child field
  • Gender correction

However, CBSE will only accept minor corrections in the names of the mother or father. Additionally, schools cannot change the category from General to OBC.

Fee and Submission Process

A processing fee of ₹1,000 per candidate will be charged for each correction. Schools must deposit this fee with their concerned regional office. The correction process is only available for regular candidates.

Final Deadline and Responsibility

CBSE has made it clear: No corrections will be allowed after April 17, 2025. The board emphasized that several schools had submitted incorrect data, despite repeated reminders to verify and follow proper guidelines. This correction window is the final opportunity for schools to update records.

Board’s Reminder to Schools

CBSE has urged school authorities to cross-check student details, including the spelling of names and date of birth, with the Admission and Withdrawal Register. Any discrepancy after the final submission may affect the accuracy of the marks statement and final result.
