The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notification mandating the installation of CCTV systems in all affiliated schools designated as exam centres for the upcoming Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in 2025. Key Details of the Notification:
- CCTV Installation Requirement: All schools designated as exam centres must have CCTV surveillance systems installed. Schools lacking these facilities will not be considered eligible as exam centres.
- Purpose: The decision to implement CCTV surveillance is intended to monitor the examination process closely, promoting transparency and integrity during the conduct of the exams.
- Exam Schedule: The Class 10 and Class 12 board exams are scheduled to commence on February 15, 2025. A complete examination schedule is expected to be released soon.
- Scale of the Exams: Over 44 lakh students are anticipated to participate in the exams, which will take place at approximately 8000 schools across India and in 26 countries outside the country.
- Privacy and Security Regulations: The notification stresses the importance of adhering to privacy regulations. Schools must ensure that students and staff are informed about the CCTV installations, and the recorded footage should remain confidential, accessible only to authorized personnel.
- Technical Specifications: Cameras must be installed to cover all examination areas, and the footage should be recorded continuously in high resolution.
