A total of 14 CBSE-affiliated schools in Gujarat have been disaffiliated, marking the highest single instance of such action in the state. The list, published on the School Affiliation Re-engineered Automation System (SARAS) 5.0 website, includes four schools from Ahmedabad. Experts clarify that while disaffiliation prevents new admissions, it does not impact students currently enrolled in these schools.

Schools Affected in Ahmedabad and Other Districts

The four disaffiliated schools in Ahmedabad are:

  • DLA Academy of Little People
  • The New Tulip International School
  • Nirman High School
  • Delhi Public School, Hirpur

The remaining 10 disaffiliated schools are spread across various districts:

  • Kendriya Vidyalaya (Surat and NTPC Bharuch)
  • Sarojben Memorial International School
  • Rajdeep English School
  • Sunflower School, Jamnagar
  • Shri BM Kyada School
  • Aarya-Veer International School, Rajkot
  • Global Indian International School, Surat
  • Bhaskardyusti Vidyalaya, Valsad
  • Calorx Public School, Amreli

Reason for Disaffiliation

CBSE has cited non-compliance with regulations as the primary reason for disaffiliation. According to sources, these schools were found violating the board’s affiliation by-laws during inspections. Notably, two schools from Ahmedabad—New Tulip International School and Nirman High School—were among the 29 schools identified in December 2024 for creating ‘non-attending enrollments’ and allegedly running ‘dummy classes.’

A senior official from CBSE’s Ajmer region confirmed that 463 schools across India are currently disaffiliated, as per the latest data on the CBSE website. The reasons for disaffiliation will be updated on the SARAS portal.

Impact on Students and Future Affiliation

Experts explain that disaffiliation mainly affects new admissions in the affected schools, while current students can complete their academic programs. If schools rectify the identified issues, they can apply for reaffiliation after undergoing the necessary procedures.

The disaffiliation news has caused concern among parents and students, prompting many to check their school’s CBSE status. School management representatives have stated that they are awaiting official communication from CBSE regarding the disaffiliation.

This significant action by CBSE underscores the board’s commitment to maintaining educational standards and ensuring compliance with affiliation norms.
