The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to release the datesheet for the Class 10 and 12 board exams for the 2025 academic session. The exams will commence on February 15, 2024, following the traditional pen-and-paper format.

Practical Examination Details

In addition to the main exam schedule, CBSE will issue a separate datesheet for practical exams. For Class 12 students, these practicals will be conducted under the supervision of an external examiner, while Class 10 practicals will be overseen by the school’s own teachers. Registration for Class 10 and 12 students has already begun, with schools required to submit the List of Candidates (LOC) via the Pariksha Sangam portal. The deadline for submitting the LOC is set for October 4, 2024.

How to Check the CBSE Datesheet 2025

Students and parents can follow these steps to check the CBSE Datesheet for 2025 once it is released:

  1. Visit the official CBSE website: cbse.gov.in.
  2. Navigate to the “Latest Announcements” section or click on the “Academic Website” link on the homepage.
  3. Locate the notification for the Class 10 or Class 12 datesheet.
  4. Click on the link to download the PDF of the exam schedule.
  5. Verify the exam dates and subjects to ensure accurate preparation.

Possible Changes to Exam Scheduling

CBSE is also exploring changes to the board exam schedule, including the potential introduction of a semester system. This would align with the recommendations from the new National Curriculum Framework (NCF), which suggests conducting board exams twice a year.

The board is considering several timeframes for the exams, including January-February, March-April, and June. According to an official statement, “The three possible options discussed include conducting exams in a semester system with the first board exam in January-February and the second in March-April, or holding a supplementary or improvement exam in June.”

These changes, if implemented, could offer students more flexibility and opportunities for improvement, providing a more holistic approach to exam scheduling in the future.
