CET Registration Begins for Admission to Special Schools and Scholarships

India, February 6, 2025: The registration process for the Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to select educational institutions and scholarship programs across the state begins today. The registration window will remain open until February 19, and the examination is scheduled for March 22.

The CET scores will determine admission into Class 6 at several prestigious schools, including:

  • Gyan Shakti Residential Schools
  • Gyan Shakti Tribal Residential Schools
  • Raksha Shakti Schools
  • Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS)
  • Sainik Schools

Additionally, the test results will decide recipients of the Chief Minister’s Gyan Setu Merit Scholarship, which provides financial support from Class 6 to 12.

Unified Admission System

Introduced in 2023-24, the centralized CET system aims to simplify the admission process for students from government and grant-in-aid schools. Starting from 2025-26, tribal students seeking admission to EMRS and Sainik Schools under the Gujarat State Tribal Education Society will no longer need to appear for separate entrance exams, as CET will be the sole criterion for selection.

Eligibility Criteria

Students applying for CET must have completed their primary education (Class 1 to 5) in a government or grant-in-aid school.

This initiative ensures a streamlined and merit-based admission process, expanding educational opportunities for deserving students across the state.
