The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will organize a CUET Orientation Program on April 17, 2025. This session is meant for principals and counselors of affiliated schools. It will take place at the Auditorium, CBSE Integrated Office, Sector-23, Dwarka, New Delhi, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Attendees must reach the venue by 9:00 AM to complete pre-program formalities.

Purpose of the Orientation

CBSE aims to help educators understand the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and its importance in undergraduate admissions. As per the board, many students require clear and consistent guidance. Therefore, school leaders must have a strong grasp of CUET’s structure and objectives.

This orientation directly supports the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The policy encourages better career counseling in schools. Consequently, CBSE is taking active steps to build such support systems.

What the Board Said

In an official notice, CBSE stated:

“With CUET being a crucial component of university admissions, it is essential to equip school Principals and Counselors with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively guide students.”

Clearly, CBSE understands the growing role that schools play in shaping students’ academic futures.

Why This Session Matters

By attending the CUET orientation, participants will:

  • Learn the structure and format of CUET.
  • Provide updated and accurate information to students.
  • Help students choose subjects aligned with their interests.
  • Offer guidance on exam preparation and stress management.
  • Understand the specific admission criteria of different universities.

How to Register

Interested principals and counselors should register online. Participation is limited to 350 people, and seats will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Those selected will receive confirmation emails before the event. More details and the registration link can be found in the official CBSE notification PDF.

Aligning with NEP 2020

The CUET Orientation Program is part of CBSE’s broader effort to implement NEP 2020. In fact, the policy stresses early career planning, informed decision-making, and equitable access to higher education. Through this session, CBSE ensures that educators are well-prepared to support their students at every step.

Final Thoughts

The introduction of CUET has changed the way universities admit students. Schools must now play an active role in preparing students for this competitive process. With this orientation, CBSE provides school leaders with the tools they need to advise, support, and guide effectively.
