With the National Testing Agency (NTA) yet to declare the CUET UG 2024 results, first-year undergraduate admissions at Delhi University have experienced a delay. The results of the Common University Entrance Test, initially scheduled for release on June 30, were postponed due to issues surrounding the NEET UG 2024 paper leak.

Revised Academic Schedule

  • New Semester Start Date: Originally set to begin on August 1, the first semester classes at Delhi University may now start on August 16, according to Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh.
  • Ongoing Semesters: Classes for other semesters will commence as planned on August 1.

“The result has not been announced, but it will impact the academic calendar for the students for the first semester in courses where admission is through CUET-UG. The semester will likely start on August 16. For other semesters, we will start the semester on August 1,” Singh told ANI.

NTA’s Provisional Answer Key and Grievance Redressal

The NTA, while releasing the provisional answer key, mentioned that it would “redo” the exam if any grievances are found to be genuine. Currently embroiled in controversy due to irregularities in NEET-UG, the NTA has committed to addressing grievances related to CUET-UG 2024.

  • Re-examination Window: If grievances raised by candidates are verified as correct, the NTA will retake the exam between July 15-19, 2024, for such candidates under the Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode. The notification specified, “The NTA is addressing the grievances received regarding the exam conducted for CUET-UG 2024 and received up to June 30. If the grievance is genuine, the NTA is committed to redoing the exam for these candidates at selected centres any day between July 15-19, 2024. The admit card will be issued to the candidates. All such candidates will take the exam in CBT mode only.”

The results of the CUET UG 2024 are expected to be released soon, which will then allow the admission process at Delhi University to proceed.
