The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2024 on Sunday. Among the many students who excelled in the exam, 18-year-old Rohansh Mahajan stood out with his exceptional performance. Rohansh scored a perfect 200/200 marks each in English, Economics/Business Economics, Business Studies, and Accountancy/Bookkeeping. He also attempted the Mathematics and General Tests.
Rohansh, a Delhi native, completed his schooling at Apeejay School – Pitampura, achieving 97.4% in Class 10 and 97% in Class 12. Despite his parents being doctors, Rohansh had no interest in pursuing science and instead aims to study BA Economics at the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Delhi. He has also applied to Economics (Hons) programs at Hindu College, Hansraj College, and St. Stephen’s College under the University of Delhi.
Rohansh told The Indian Express, “SRCC is known to provide top-quality education. Also, with my admission, I will get numerous opportunities for exposure and personality development through the college’s sports facilities, festivals, and the alumni association.” He is also considering pursuing finance courses after graduation or a master’s in economics if his interest in the subject deepens.
Preparation Strategy
Rohansh began his CUET UG preparation in July 2023. He enrolled in Career Launcher for focused preparation, which, combined with his board exam studies, helped him achieve top marks in multiple subjects.
CUET UG: A Challenging Endeavor
Rohansh noted that some of his peers underestimated the difficulty of CUET UG and only began preparing after their board exams. This late start left them confused about where to apply with their entrance exam scores. He emphasized that starting early provided him the advantage of thorough preparation and the ability to tackle deep analytical questions.
Rohansh’s story highlights the importance of early and dedicated preparation for competitive exams like CUET UG, which are critical for admission into top universities in India.
