The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has announced guidelines for admissions under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and Children with Special Needs (CWSN) categories in the city’s private unaided recognised schools. The admissions process for entry-level classes—nursery, kindergarten (KG), and Class 1—will begin on February 3, 2025, with the last date for online applications set for February 19, 2025.

Age Criteria
The age limits for entry-level classes as of March 31, 2025, are as follows:
- EWS/DG Categories:
- Nursery: 3 to 5 years
- KG: 4 to 6 years
- Class 1: 5 to 7 years
- CWSN (flexible age limits):
- Nursery: 3 to 7 years
- KG: 4 to 8 years
- Class 1: 5 to 9 years
Eligibility for EWS and DG Categories
- EWS Category:
- Family income must be below ₹5 lakh annually.
- An income certificate issued by the Delhi Revenue Department is required.
- Families with Below Poverty Line (BPL) or Antyodaya Anna Yojana ration cards are eligible.
- DG Category:
- Includes children from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC Non-Creamy Layer), orphans, transgender children, and those affected by HIV.
- No income certificate is required for this category.
Eligibility for Children with Special Needs
Children with disabilities need to present a government-issued disability certificate. No income criteria apply to this group.
Admission Procedure
The first round of the computerised draw of lots for selected students will be conducted on March 3, 2025. Parents are advised to ensure all documents, including income or disability certificates, are submitted during the application process.
