The Directorate of Education (DoE) in Delhi has issued new guidelines directing both government and private schools to implement 10 bagless days for students of classes 6 to 8. This initiative is part of the recommendations of the National Education Policy 2020, aiming to make learning more experiential, joyful, and stress-free.

Experiential Learning Focus: 10 Bagless Days in Delhi Schools

Developed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the guidelines encourage schools to make optimal use of available resources. Activities during bagless days may include the Happiness Curriculum and excursion visits, providing students with hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom.

According to the circular, students can visit historical monuments, cultural sites, craft centers, and other places of interest. They will have opportunities to meet with artists and craftsmen, helping them broaden their understanding of various concepts and traditions while appreciating the importance of preserving heritage.

This initiative is expected to enrich students’ educational experiences by allowing them to learn beyond textbooks and classrooms, fostering a deeper connection with their cultural and historical surroundings.
