A district inspector of schools (DIoS), Ramesh Singh, has been suspended on charges of allegedly facilitating illegal salary payments to 27 teachers and employees across four schools in the Ballia district, an official stated.
Devendra Kumar Gupta, the current DIoS of Ballia, confirmed that the suspension was based on a report submitted by the Joint Director of Education, Azamgarh, Yogendra Kumar Singh, on October 17, 2023. The report accused Ramesh Singh of approving fake appointments in schools, resulting in unauthorized salary disbursements.
Ramesh Singh, who was transferred to Mau district in June 2023, was suspended by the state government following the investigation.
