Athletes Win 13 Gold, 8 Silver, and 5 Bronze Medals
Solan, September 27, 2024 — Doon Valley Public School, Nalagarh, achieved an impressive second-place finish at the recently concluded CBSE Cluster-16 games held in Sirsa, Haryana, securing a total of 26 medals. The school’s athletes showcased their talent among over 600 participants from 60 schools across Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
Principal Devendra Mahal expressed pride in the students’ performance, which included an outstanding haul of 13 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
In the girls’ category, standout athlete Ishroop Saini earned three gold medals in long jump, the 100m race, and the 4x400m relay. Riddhi Kaushal also excelled, winning gold in high jump and the 4x400m relay, alongside a silver medal in the 400m race. Other notable performances included Anushka, who won gold in the 4x400m relay and bronze in the 200m race, and Arunima, who contributed with gold in the relay and bronze in the 3,000m race. Radhika Sharma was another key contributor, securing gold in the 4x400m relay.
In the boys’ U-19 category, Umardeen, Nitin Kaushal, Abdul Razak, Vinay, and Gurleen clinched gold in the 4x400m relay. Aditya Thakur and Nitin Kaushal added to the medal tally with silver in the triple jump, while Aditya Gupta earned silver in shot put. The school also saw Umardeen, Nitin Kaushal, and Akash achieve bronze in the 800m, 200m, and 200m races, respectively.
In recognition of their exceptional performance, twelve gold medallists have been selected to represent Doon Valley Public School at the upcoming national competition in Varanasi. The school administration congratulated the athletes and the sports department for their dedication and hard work, commending them on this remarkable achievement.
