Fondly known as “Dilli ka Sher,” Madan Lal Khurana graduated from Kirori Mal College, Delhi University, and earned his postgraduate degree in History from the University of Allahabad. He started his political career during his student days and was elected General Secretary of Allahabad Students Union in 1959. - Sahib Singh Verma (CM from 1996 to 1998)
Born into a farmer’s family in Delhi’s Mundka village, Sahib Singh Verma pursued a degree in Library Science from Aligarh Muslim University. He added “Verma” to his name following advice from a professor. - Sushma Swaraj (CM from October 12, 1998 to December 3, 1998)
Sushma Swaraj earned her undergraduate degree in Sanskrit and Political Science from Sanatan Dharma College, Ambala Cantt, and later pursued law at Punjab University. - Sheila Dikshit (CM from December 3, 1998 to December 28, 2013)
Sheila Dikshit completed her primary education at Jesus and Mary School, Delhi, and obtained a Master of Arts degree from Miranda House College, Delhi University. - Arvind Kejriwal (CM from December 28, 2013 to September 15, 2024)
Considered one of the most educated Chief Ministers in India, Arvind Kejriwal graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur. - Atishi Marlena (CM from September 15, 2024, to February 2025)
Atishi completed her schooling at Springdales School, New Delhi. She pursued a Master’s degree in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, and later completed a postgraduate degree at Oxford University on a Chevening Scholarship.
