India Post is opening the application correction window today, August 6, for the GDS Recruitment 2024. Candidates who have already submitted their applications can make necessary corrections through the official website indiapostgdsonline.gov.in. The correction window will remain open until August 8, 2024.
This recruitment drive aims to fill 44,228 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) positions across 23 circles in India. The vacancies are distributed across various states, including:
- Rajasthan: 2,718 positions
- Bihar: 2,558 positions
- Uttar Pradesh: 4,588 positions
- Chhattisgarh: 1,338 positions
- Madhya Pradesh: 4,011 positions
Recruitment will also take place in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttarakhand, and West Bengal. Last year, India Post had announced 30,041 GDS vacancies.

- Click on the Correction Window: Find and click on the link for the application correction window on the homepage.
- Select Details to Edit: Choose the specific details you need to correct.
- Make Corrections and Pay Fees: Edit the required fields and pay any applicable fees.
- Submit and Save Acknowledgment: Submit the corrected application and save a copy of the acknowledgment form for future reference.
Details About GDS Posts
- Positions Available: Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevaks.
- Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have completed class 10 with compulsory mathematics and English. They should also know how to ride a bicycle and be between 18 to 40 years of age. Age relaxation is available for reserved categories.
- Selection Process: Selection will be based on a merit list created from class 10 grades.
Salary Structure
- Assistant Branch Postmaster: Rs 10,000 to Rs 24,470 per month.
- Branch Postmaster: Rs 12,000 to Rs 29,380 per month.
- Chowkidar: Rs 20,000 per month.
