The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has announced the recruitment of Forest Range Officers (FRO) for 2024. The Commission aims to fill 170 positions. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit:

  • Minimum: 21 years
  • Maximum: 35 years (as of August 1, 2024)
  • Age relaxation is available for reserved categories.

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry, Botany, Environmental Science, or an Engineering degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from a recognized university.

Application Process

Steps to Apply:

  1. Visit the official website at jpsc.gov.in.
  2. Register by providing basic details to generate login credentials.
  3. Log in and fill out the Forest Range Officers application form.
  4. Upload scanned copies of necessary documents.
  5. Pay the application fee and submit the form.

Application Fee:

  • General, EBC, BC, and EWS: Rs 600
  • SC and ST: Rs 150

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the following stages:

  1. Preliminary Examination:
    • Consists of two objective-type papers, each worth 200 marks.
    • No negative marking.
  2. Main Examination:
    • Consists of six descriptive papers covering:
      • General Hindi and English Language and Literature
      • Social Science
      • Indian Constitution and Polity
      • Economy and General Science
    • Total marks: 1050
  3. Interview Round:
    • Evaluates personality and knowledge.
    • Carries 100 marks.
  4. Document Verification:
    • Verification of educational certificates, identity proofs, and other relevant documents.
