Maharashtra Education Minister Dada Bhuse clarified that only select features of the CBSE curriculum will be integrated into the state’s SSC pattern for Std I students from the 2025-26 academic year. The existing SSC framework will remain unchanged, ensuring minimal disruption.
Clarification on CBSE Integration
Bhuse addressed concerns among parents and teachers regarding reports of a shift to the CBSE pattern. He assured that the Maharashtra State Board’s structure would not be replaced but refined with key elements from CBSE. Balbharati, the state’s educational body, has been assigned the task of developing textbooks and researching curriculum modifications.
“There has been some misunderstanding. We are only incorporating the finer aspects of the CBSE pattern for Std I. The Maharashtra board’s framework will stay intact, with some adjustments,” Bhuse stated.
Government’s Plan for Implementation
During his visit to Nashik, Bhuse informed reporters that the government would provide detailed explanations during the ongoing assembly session. The government plans to:
- Address concerns from students, parents, and educators.
- Present a structured clarification in the state legislature.
- Hold a press conference to interact with education experts.
“We will present the details in the House in the coming days and organize discussions with experts before rolling out the changes in June 2025,” Bhuse added.
Ensuring a Smooth Transition
The state government aims to modernize early education while maintaining continuity for students. By selectively integrating CBSE elements, Maharashtra seeks to enhance learning without disrupting the current system.
