NEP Implementation in Maharashtra
The state has already rolled out NEP 2020 in autonomous colleges and university departments, with regular workshops aimed at spreading awareness. A steering committee for the policy’s implementation, chaired by Professor Nitin Karmalkar, former Vice-Chancellor of Savitribai Phule Pune University, oversees the initiative.
Shailendra Deolankar, Director of the Maharashtra Higher Education Department, emphasized the importance of these interactions, stating, “A weekly virtual interaction will be organized where the participants will be informed about the revised education system, followed by a question-answer session.”
This structured approach aims to familiarize educators, students, and the public with NEP 2020’s objectives, fostering a smooth transition to the new educational paradigm.
