Delhi – The Financial Planning Standards Board India (FPSB India), the Indian subsidiary of the Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB Ltd.), in conjunction with the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore), organized a boot camp for financial planning firms. The boot camp focused on supporting and mentoring financial planning firms, thereby enabling CFP professionals to run their own practices. The event highlighted the need for strategic planning, risk, and contingency planning as part of building one’s own practice.
Over 300 delegates from across India attended the event and had the opportunity to hear from eminent speakers such as Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director of IIM Bangalore, who gave the keynote address; Prof. M Jayadev, Faculty – Finance and Accounting, Dean – Administration & Chairperson, CCMRM IIM Bangalore; Prof. Jacob Joshy, Associate Professor at IIM Ahmedabad; and Mr. Krishan Mishra, CEO of FPSB India. Speaking at the event, Professor M Jayadev, Chairperson of CCMRM, said, “It was a pleasure for us to join hands with FPSB India in organizing a boot camp for financial planning professionals. The objective was to encourage more CFP professionals to set up their own practices and fuel more start-ups in the area of financial planning. We look forward to continued engagement with FPSB India in fostering a culture of financial planning in the country.”

Industry experts and academics present at the IIM Bangalore-FPSB India boot camp spoke about gaining consumer confidence, building a sustained practice, and risk mitigation, among other topics. The event was well represented by CXOs from financial advisory firms, banks, wealth management firms, CFP professionals, and academia.
FPSB India issues the international CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER certification in India, referred to as CFP.
