The Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of the National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced an extension for submitting applications for new postgraduate (PG) medical courses. This includes applications for starting new PG courses in established medical institutions, establishing new standalone PG institutes, and increasing seats in existing PG courses. The deadline for submission has been extended to November 8, 2024, as per a public notice issued on October 16, 2024.

Key Details:

  • Previous Deadline: The initial deadline for applications was set for October 17, 2024, following a notice on September 18, 2024.
  • New Deadline: The new deadline for submitting applications is now November 8, 2024.

The extension aims to provide additional time for medical institutions to prepare and submit their applications. All other terms and conditions mentioned in the previous public notice dated September 18, 2024, remain unchanged.

Application Process:

Interested medical institutions can submit their applications through the designated NMC web portal. The application process involves the following steps:

  1. Online Application Form: Applicants must complete the online application form as per the guiding document provided.
  2. Payment of Fees: The requisite fee must be paid online during the application process.

Annual Disclosure Report (ADR):

In a separate but related matter, the NMC has requested all medical colleges and institutes running postgraduate medical courses to submit an Annual Disclosure Report (ADR) for each PG course they offer.

  • Report Structure: The ADR consists of two parts:
    • Part-A: Standard Assessment Form, which includes Institutional Information Common for all PG Specialties.
    • Part-B: Standard Assessment Form specifically for Broad/Super Specialty courses.

Medical colleges running PG courses must complete and submit the relevant forms along with a fee of ₹50,000 plus 18% GST for each PG course by October 31, 2024.

This extension and the ADR submission process reflect the NMC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the quality and accountability of postgraduate medical education in India.
