Another private school in Noida, Shiv Nadar School in Sector 168, received a bomb threat email early on Friday morning, making it the fifth school in the city to receive such a threat within three days. The school administration promptly alerted the police, who carried out a thorough search of the premises and declared the threat a hoax.

“On Friday around 7:30 AM, we were informed that Shiv Nadar School had received a bomb threat email on its official mail ID. A police team, bomb detection squad, firefighters, and a dog squad were immediately dispatched, and all students were safely evacuated,” said Ram Badan Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Noida.

Following a two-hour search, no suspicious items were found, and the threat was deemed a hoax. “Our investigation revealed that the email was written in a South Indian language and claimed that an explosive device was placed on the school premises. Unlike the previous threats sent to four schools on Wednesday by a minor Noida, Delhi, School Security, Bomb Threat, Police Investigation, Cybercrime

boy, this email appeared more professional and was sent using a fake ID,” added DCP Singh. The matter has been transferred to the cybercrime team for further investigation.

According to Noida Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Twinkle Jain, the bomb threat email arrived at Shiv Nadar School’s official email ID around 5:30 AM. However, it was only noticed at 7:30 AM when staff members arrived. “By then, several students had already reached the campus. The school administration immediately stopped further entry and informed parents,” she said. Shiv Nadar School administration remained unavailable for comment despite multiple attempts.

Delhi Schools and College Receive Similar Threats

In Delhi, Ahlcon International School in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 received a similar bomb threat email at 5 AM on Friday. Upon discovering the email at 5:44 AM, Principal Sanjay Yadav immediately informed the staff and police. “The email claimed that explosives were planted in the school building and could be detonated remotely,” said Yadav.

The Delhi Police bomb disposal squad and local police officers conducted a thorough search of the school premises but found nothing suspicious. “Our bomb squad and sniffer dogs scanned the entire building, and no explosive devices were found,” said Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East Delhi).

St. Stephen’s College, a prestigious institution in North Delhi, also received a bomb threat email at 7:42 AM. The principal promptly informed the North Delhi Police, who conducted anti-sabotage checks and confirmed that the email was a hoax. “Our bomb detection and disposal team completed a thorough search of the premises and found no threats,” said Raja Banthia, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Delhi).

The email received by Ahlcon International School also mentioned another private school with a branch in South Delhi as a recipient. However, when contacted, the school administration confirmed that they had not received any such threat and that the school remained open.

Previous Bomb Threat Incidents in Noida and Delhi

Earlier, on Wednesday, four private schools in Noida—Step by Step, The Heritage, Gyanshree, and Mayoor School—received bomb threat emails. Following police investigations, these emails were also declared hoaxes. By Wednesday evening, a 14-year-old Class 9 student was detained for sending the emails in an attempt to avoid going to school.

Similarly, on January 8, 2025, seven private schools in Delhi received bomb threats, later determined to be hoaxes. The Delhi Police Special Cell took over the investigation, and by January 10, a 17-year-old Class 12 student was detained for allegedly sending the emails.

Ongoing Investigation and Cybercrime Involvement

Authorities have noted differences between the latest bomb threat and previous cases involving school students. “Unlike the earlier threats sent by minors, the latest email to Shiv Nadar School appeared more sophisticated and was sent from a fake ID. The cyber team is actively tracing the origin of the email,” a senior police officer stated.

The recent spate of bomb threat emails has raised concerns about school security and the misuse of digital platforms to create panic. Police officials urge schools to remain vigilant, follow safety protocols, and report any suspicious activity to authorities immediately.
