The Odisha government has officially reconstituted a task force dedicated to recommending measures for the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP-2020). This decision was formalized in a notification issued by the School & Mass Education Department on Thursday.
Under the leadership of the Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary, the task force will consist of 13 ex-officio members and expert members serving as special invitees from various organizations, including UNICEF, Central Square Foundation (CSF), AKSHARA Foundation, Language Learning Foundation (LLF), PRATHAM, and a nominee from the Higher Education Department.
The notification emphasizes that, following careful consideration, the government is pleased to establish this task force to facilitate the effective rollout of NEP-2020 in Odisha. To further support this initiative, six thematic sub-committees have also been reconstituted to address different components of NEP-2020, with representatives from other departments, directorates under the School & Mass Education Department, and educational experts as special invitees.
The Chairperson may invite additional experts or relevant individuals to participate in specific committee or sub-committee meetings to discuss particular issues related to the smooth implementation of NEP-2020.
