Pre-Board Examinations Begin for Jharkhand CM Schools of Excellence

The pre-board examinations for 11,772 students from the Chief Minister Schools of Excellence in Jharkhand commenced on Wednesday, marking a significant step toward the inaugural CBSE board examinations for these schools.

Examination Overview

  • Class 10: Students appeared for the English pre-board paper.
  • Class 12: Students sat for the Geography exam.
  • Participation: Across 80 CM Schools of Excellence:
    • Class 10: 5,443 students
    • Class 12: 6,329 students
  • Schedule:
    • Class 10 pre-boards will conclude on December 17, 2024.
    • Class 12 pre-boards will end on December 20, 2024.

Preparing for Success

Manohar Lal, consultant of school education for the School of Excellence (SoE) at the Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), emphasized the importance of these pre-boards in assessing students’ readiness. The question papers were designed in line with CBSE sample papers to provide an authentic examination experience.

To support this effort, the education department ensured timely distribution of question papers and answer booklets to district authorities before the exams began.

Strategic Approach

The education department has planned two phases of pre-board exams:

  1. First Phase: Currently underway, focusing on identifying students’ strengths and areas for improvement.
  2. Second Phase: Scheduled for January, offering another opportunity to refine performance.

Yashmeen Galaria, principal of ASTVS CM SoE in Ranchi, highlighted the preparation levels of students, noting their promising potential. Based on the results of the first pre-board exams, remedial classes will be conducted to ensure students are comprehensively prepared for the final board exams.

The pre-board examinations provide a structured and strategic approach to equip students from the CM Schools of Excellence with the skills and confidence needed to excel in their first CBSE board exams. With two rounds of pre-boards and targeted remedial support, these schools are laying the groundwork for student success.
