The government has officially opened registrations for the Prime Minister Internship Programme, a scheme that offers valuable work experience and financial support to young people across India. Eligible candidates, aged between 21 and 24, can apply through the official portal, pminternship.mca.gov.in, with the registration deadline set for October 25, 2024.
The program, launched by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, aims to provide internships to 1.25 lakh candidates in its first phase, with an ultimate goal of reaching one crore youth over the next five years. This initiative offers participants the chance to gain real-world experience in top companies across various industries.
Financial Assistance and Support
Interns selected for the program will receive ₹5,000 per month for a duration of 12 months, along with a one-time grant of ₹6,000. Companies participating in the scheme will contribute 10% of the internship cost and cover training expenses through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds.
Eligibility Criteria
To apply, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Must have completed Class 12, an ITI certificate, or a diploma from a polytechnic.
- Graduates holding degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, or B.Pharma are eligible.
- Candidates from families with an annual income of more than ₹8 lakh in 2023-24 are not eligible.

As of now, 90,800 internship opportunities have been made available by 193 companies, including industry leaders like Jubilant Foodworks, Maruti Suzuki India, Eicher Motor, and Reliance Industries.
