The Supreme Court has deferred the hearing on NEET PG 2024 to November, with candidates anticipating a decision that could influence the ongoing counselling and future admissions in postgraduate medical programs. Applicants have requested the National Board of Examinations (NBE) to publish the official NEET PG 2024 answer key, allowing them to assess their scores for a fairer, more transparent grading process.

During the recent hearing, the Supreme Court acknowledged the petitioners’ concerns over transparency. Officials from NBE clarified that withholding the answer key was intended to maintain test security, as releasing it annually could expose all exam questions over time. However, the court noted the need for a structured approach to transparency in the NEET PG evaluation process. Petitioners are urging the court to mandate the release of crucial exam materials, including question papers, response sheets, and answer keys, so candidates can understand their performance better.

The NEET PG 2024 petition, filed by a group of examinees, challenges last-minute modifications to the exam pattern and seeks clarity on results. Their demands encompass the release of question papers, answer keys, and raw scores to ensure candidates are evaluated fairly.

Though NEET PG counselling has started, candidates are awaiting the release of the complete counselling timeline, which includes the stray vacancy round. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the full schedule soon, helping students better prepare for the admission process.

Initially set for October 4, the hearing was postponed due to the absence of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, and a new date is anticipated in the coming weeks. The case has gained significant attention as it addresses issues such as exam pattern changes and requests for greater transparency in the NEET PG assessment. Candidates are keenly awaiting the Supreme Court’s decision, which is expected to bring crucial updates regarding fairness and consistency in the NEET PG process.
