The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published a reserve list for the Civil Services Main Examination (CSE Main), 2023, following the release of the main results on April 16, 2024. This list was requested by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) to fill remaining vacancies from the CSE Mains. A total of 120 candidates have been recommended across various categories: 88 from the General category, 5 from the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), 23 from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 3 from Scheduled Castes (SC), and 1 from Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Candidates can view the names and roll numbers of those recommended by visiting the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in. It is important to note that the candidature of 30 of these candidates is provisional, meaning their final selection is subject to verification of their eligibility and other formalities.

In April 2024, when the UPSC CSE 2023 results were initially announced, the commission had recommended a total of 1,016 candidates for various prestigious positions, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and other central services in Group A and Group B. The exam was conducted to fill 1,143 vacancies across these services.

The newly released reserve list ranks candidates in order of merit following the last candidate recommended under different categories during the initial announcement in April. The UPSC has stated that the DoPT will directly contact the recommended candidates for further steps in the recruitment process.
