Google India has announced the promotion of Vaibhav Kumar Srivastava as the new India Head – Edtechs & Education. In his new role, Vaibhav will lead Google’s Enterprise Edtech business, focusing on strengthening the company’s presence in India’s education sector.

A Milestone in Vaibhav’s Career

Vaibhav joined Google in 2021 and has since demonstrated exceptional leadership in advancing Google Cloud’s education initiatives. Reflecting on his promotion, Vaibhav shared his excitement about the new opportunity on his LinkedIn handle, stating, “I am excited to start this new position at Google Cloud. Building upon my experience in managing the Midmarket Education portfolio in 2024, I will now oversee the Enterprise Edtech business, leading our efforts to strengthen our presence in the Indian education sector.”

He also expressed gratitude for his journey at Google, saying, “Starting as the first member of the team to launch Google Cloud’s India Education business in 2021, we have made remarkable progress. Our One Google ecosystem, powered by Generative AI, positions us to deliver unparalleled value to our customers. Our mission is to digitally transform the delivery of education, and I look forward to contributing further to this vision.”

Achievements at Google

Since joining Google, Vaibhav has led numerous successful initiatives, including scaling Google Cloud’s Digital Campus Program in Education, onboarding new customers, and migrating clients to Google Cloud from other providers. Prior to his promotion, he served as Head – Education, Early Stage Edtechs, and Greenfield Corporations, where he managed a Field Sales team to advance Google Cloud and Google Workspace adoption across education, early-stage Edtechs, and mid-market corporate segments in India and SAARC regions.

Diverse Experience and Leadership

Before his tenure at Google, Vaibhav gained extensive experience at global organizations like Microsoft, IBM, HP, and CISCO. His background in both the corporate and startup sectors, including mentoring and coaching, has further enriched his leadership skills, making him a key player in driving innovation in the Indian education landscape.
