Volvo Group India Hosts STEM Workshop for Girls in Bangalore

Bangalore, 3rd February 2025: Volvo Group India organized a STEM education workshop at Kendriya Vidyalaya, DRDO, Bangalore. This initiative, called Yukti, aims to encourage young girls to explore careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Over 240 Students Participate in Interactive Activities

More than 240 students from Grades VIII and IX took part in engaging sessions. The event featured hands-on activities to spark curiosity and empower girls in technology and engineering.

Leadership Support for the Initiative

The workshop was attended by:

  • Mr. Kamal Bali, President and Managing Director, Volvo Group India
  • Ms. Radhika Nair, Head of People & Culture, Volvo Group India

Mr. Bali highlighted Volvo Group India’s commitment to promoting STEM education among young girls. He emphasized the need to bridge the gap between academia and industry through partnerships with educational institutions.

Hands-On Learning Experiences

The workshop included several engaging activities:

  • Virtual Reality (VR) Experience: Students explored Volvo’s advanced technologies.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Computer Vision Session: They learned about AI applications.
  • Robotics Workshop: Participants designed and programmed robots.
  • Problem-Solving Activities: Students worked on miniature engines and data science challenges.

Ms. Radhika Nair reaffirmed Volvo Group India’s commitment to diversity and inclusion. She emphasized the importance of inspiring young girls to break barriers and pursue careers in STEM.
